I travel at least 4 times a year on leisure and I want to maximize my time off. Two years ago I discovered Air Asia airlines. It is very well connected in a lot of major cities and destinations in Asia. They also fly to London, Abu Dhabi, India, Sri Lanka and many more. The fares are low and sometimes if you get lucky you can get a 20% off on the rates online. The flight timings are very convenient and its very easy to book online. You can also open an account with them and it keeps track of your travels as well as your bookings and e-tickets.
At first, I was thinking that the airplanes are very old, dirty and tired, however, when I got on my first flight with them I was surprised that the cabin is clean, and the seats looked new. The airline crews were groomed and looked professionals and most of all they were friendly. A lot of my friends told me that most of the time their flights get delayed for hours and sometimes you miss your connecting flights. But
I have never encountered as such..at least not yet.
The only thing that I found strange is that in case you make changes with your itinerary, they will not refund the insurance you purchased, so you have to pay a new set of insurance with the new E-ticket - even if it is only a change of date. So, what I am doing now is that I purchase the tickets without insurance, after all I am insured with the credit card that I used to pay the tickets!
With air asia flights I can tour around Asia more that I ever did before using other airlines!!!
